ASHTON WOLF BIO


Ashton Wolf graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC and has since gone on to achieve remarkable accomplishments in the Entertainment Industry. From Live Performances to Television and Film; His credits are extensive and his ability to electrify audiences is unparalleled.

 

Ashton is the Artistic Director and co-founder of the Nickel Plate Players and the creator of LAST TANGO IN PARADISE, HEARTLIGHT, TEN PIN ALLI and GIRLS NIGHT OUT! He is also the co-creator and arranger for CLUB MOROCCO which he directed this year at the Carmel Playhouse. CLUB MOROCCO became the highest grossing and most successful show in the 21 year history of the theatre. Last year, Ashton directed NPP’s first production of BEEHIVE that drew 2000 people to an instantaneous standing ovation and then went on to win the 2014 Award of Excellence from the State of Indiana! In 2013, Ashton co-wrote and directed the world premiere of TEN PIN ALLI which he co-produced with his wife, Sandy Thorne. Shortly thereafter, TEN PIN ALLI was chosen by The Phoenix Theatre in Phoenix, AZ for presentation in their Hormel Festival of New Plays and Musicals (Composer/Lyricist Cabaret). As an actor, playwright, and director, Ashton has also received awards from Drama-Logue (now BackStage), the Los Angeles Times, The Southern California Motion Picture Council and a Golden Angel Award.

 

Most recently Ashton appeared as the dancing hip-hop Abe Lincoln in a national commercial for Value City Furniture.

 

...He has completed work on his two original CDs - producing, writing and arranging all of the original material on the compilation, as well as conducting a stellar 13 piece ensemble which included guest artists from the Cincinnati Symphony and the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.


As a writer and composer of a variety of styles of music, Ashton has had five musicals produced for the stage: In addition to GIRLS NIGHT OUT and CLUB MOROCCO, Ashton's musical, “LAST TANGO IN PARADISE” was the recipient of 6 Drama-Logue Awards, including Ashton’s award for Best Director. Cal State Los Angeles produced “COMING HOME” (co-written with Jack Mitchell Cloyd) and on August 29, 2015, the Fishers Amphitheater will host the WORLD PREMIERE of his new musical, 'HEARTLIGHT" - In addition, he has written original music for the Feature Film, “Where the Wind Blows” and for the Television Pilot, “Dear Gigi.”

    In addition to the 6 Drama-Logue awards for his rock musical "LAST TANGO IN PARADISE", Ashton has also received a Golden Angel award from the Southern California Motion Picture Council and a recognition of performance award from the Los Angeles Times.

    Ashton has his own solo act and as a piano player / vocalist he has performed in over 140 cities through out the United States, appearing frequently as a guest artist at the exclusive country clubs of Naples, FL.
